Intellectual property policy

Infringement? We take it seriously.

Lyra respects artists and creators. If you see something on Lyra that violates your copyright or trademark, let us know. We’ll investigate, remove what’s needed, and ban repeat offenders.

It is Lyra’s policy to:

  1. Block access to or remove material that we believe in good faith to infringe on the intellectual property of a third party (e.g., copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, etc.) that has been unlawfully copied and distributed by any of our users, members, affiliates, or content providers; and
  2. Terminate service to repeat offenders. A repeat infringer is a user for whom Lyra has received more than two notices of claimed infringement or for whom Lyra has had to remove content more than twice. Notwithstanding this, Lyra reserves the right to immediately terminate any user account for egregious infringing activities at our sole discretion.

Our basic policy:

  • We’ll take down or block content we believe violates intellectual property laws.
  • Repeat infringers (2+ valid reports) may be banned.
  • In serious cases, we may remove users immediately.

How to report an IP violation:

Fill out our online form or email to copyright@lyramusic.io with:

  1. Your full name and contact info
  2. A clear description of what was infringed (song, artwork, etc.)
  3. The exact URL(s) of the content you’re reporting
  4. This statement (if it's a copyright issue):
  5. “I swear under penalty of perjury that I’m the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf. I believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized.”
  6. A physical or digital signature

If it's a trademark issue, just swap "copyright" for "trademark" in the statement above.

Once we get your claim:

  • We may remove or block access to the content
  • We'll notify the user who uploaded it
  • We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers

Got your content taken down by mistake?

If you believe the content shouldn’t have been removed, you can send a counter-notice to the same email.
Include:

  1. Your name, contact info, and a signature
  2. A description of what was removed
  3. A statement saying you believe it was a mistake or misidentification
  4. Consent to be contacted by the original complainant and to appear in court if needed (U.S. Federal Court or your local district)
  5. If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a lawsuit.
