Ivan Salmaksov was a prominent Russian DJ and pioneering club promoter, one of the key figures in the early days of rave/club scene in Russia. In 1990, Salmaksov was one of the founders of Tanzpol – the first underground nightclub playing electronic dance music in post-USSR, which was based at a now legendary studio/workshop/squat Fontanka. He was producing Bogdan Titomir in 1993–94, even though most of the material they recorded together wasn’t released. He also produced several remixes for pop artists. Salmaksov worked as a music director of SubStation 69.26 VHF radio station.
