About
Since 2005, Denis, now known as Soultape, has been creating musical canvases, and since 2011, he has been an integral part of the avant-garde project Adjustment Bureau. Over the course of their existence, the duo has left an indelible mark on vinyl culture, releasing 12 records on respected labels such as Morning People (Serialism), Bodyparts, Pleasure Zone, and Heisenberg. Thanks to their extensive experience, unique signature technique, and impeccable musical flair, Adjustment Bureau have earned residency status at leading venues in both Russian capitals and have become welcome guests in other cities. Since 2013, Denis and the project have shared the stage with such industry titans as Petre Inspirescu, Barac, Maayan Nidam, Vera, Dan Andrei, Steve Bug, Federico Molinari, Julian Perez—the list goes on and on. From 2017 to 2019, Denis oversaw bookings at the acclaimed Moscow project Meduza, discovering new international artists for Russian audiences. He also co-founded the HAZE project and the vinyl label of the same name, which set the tone for the underground scene. Continuing his studio experiments with sound, in 2019, Denis, adopting the alter ego Soultape, founded his own vinyl label of the same name. Focusing on releasing solo work, he stepped away from all side projects to fully immerse himself in the creative process. The discography of the SOULTAPE label now includes eight albums, whose releases immediately soared to the top of the Deejay.de sales charts, selling out in a matter of days. Denis recently presented his long-awaited debut album to the public on the RTS.FM label. The In Frisson sub-label, focused on deep progressive sounds, deserves special attention, as do releases on the Australian imprint Apa (Unic) and ACME from the Spanish minimal sound visionary Alex Font. Soultape is currently part of the Not Normal team – a collective that tirelessly promotes, popularizes, and develops house music in all its modern forms.
